Expert insight: Former NFL star Luke Kuechly reveals surprising picks for the Conference Championship games
It’s Commanders - Eagles and Bills - Chiefs this weekend. Who will come out on top?

This weekend’s NFL Conference Championship games bring together four teams with very different stories over recent years, each just one game away from the Super Bowl.
The NFC championship game sees a star-studded Philadelphia Eagles come up against a Washington Commanders team that have exceeded all expectations this year. In the AFC it’s the Kansas City Chiefs taking on the Buffalo Bills, the Patrick Mahomes dynasty taking on a rising force in Buffalo.
Both match-ups are intriguingly poised with a real argument to make for all four of the teams. Ahead of Sunday’s games Luke Kuechly, seven-time Pro Bowler and 2013 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, appeared on the Up & Adams Show to discuss his picks for the games. Speaking to host Kay Adams he made some bold predictions about who he expects to see in Super Bowl LIX.
All about Jayden Daniels in NFC match-up

Kuechly spent the entirety of his eight-year NFL career with the Carolina Panthers and knows the NFC well. He was a part of the Panthers team that won the 2015 NFL Championship game against the Arizona Cardinals and has a strong feeling that the Commanders can pull off a shock against the Eagles this year.
He picked the No. 6 seed Commanders to progress passed the Eagles, having already beaten the No. 1 seed Lions and No. 3 seed Buccaneers. His reason? A first-year quarterback who may be putting up the greatest rookie season in NFL history.
“I believe in Jayden Daniels,” Kuechly explained. “And that defence played really well last week. They forced five turnovers against a really good Lions team in a difficult place to play. They’re playing really good football, scoring points and playing well in defence."
“I’m going to get push-back from the Philly fans again but I have a hard time rooting against my guys up there in Washington.”
Kuechly backs Josh Allen to find a way

The AFC Championship game is a meeting of two teams who have shown incredible consistency in recent years. The Kansas City Chiefs secured dynasty status last year, wrapping up a third championship in five years and a third Super Bowl MVP for Patrick Mahomes. A third consecutive success this year would put them in the rarefied air of the greatest teams of all time, but the Buffalo Bills will offer tough resistance.
The Bills have now topped the AFC East for five consecutive years but are yet to advance to a Super Bowl, twice losing to the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. This time, however, Kuechly thinks there could be a different outcome.
“I like Josh [Allen], I think Josh is going to figure it out,” Kuechly said. “I think his drive right now to win in any way that he can do it is going to take him to the top,”
“I think he is ready, that team is ready. I don’t think there’s one guy on the offensive side of the ball that he thinks he needs to get the ball to. He can just play.”
