Fantasy Football team of the week: NFL 2023 Week 4
The San Francisco 49ers running back Christan McCaffrey and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen are this week’s highest scoring players in Fantasy Football.
Josh Allen had a fantastic performance on Sunday, completing 21 of 25 passes for 320 yards, four touchdowns, and no interceptions in the Bills’ 48-20 victory over the Dolphins. Additionally, he rushed four times for 17 yards, scoring another touchdown. This week, he was the highest-scoring quarterback in fantasy football, accumulating 36.50 points.
Allen had an impressive performance against the undefeated Dolphins, displaying excellent efficiency as he executed an aggressive game plan from the start. He led the Bills to an early 18-yard touchdown to Gabe Davis on the opening drive. Before halftime, he added two more touchdowns to Stefon Diggs - an 11-yard and a 55-yard scoring toss - giving the Bills a two-touchdown lead. In the third quarter, he threw a 13-yard strike to Diggs and then scored on his own from 11 yards out in the fourth quarter to seal the victory. Allen had a rocky start with three interceptions against the Jets in Week 1, but he has since bounced back, throwing eight touchdowns to only one interception and completing 76.6% of his passes over the next three games. The Bills will now shift their focus to a Week 5 London matchup against the Jaguars, hoping to continue their offensive success.
The highest-scoring player on Fantasy Football’s Week 4 team is Christian McCaffrey. He scored a total of 48.70 points. During Sunday’s 35-16 victory over Arizona, the 49ers running back carried the ball 20 times for 106 yards and three touchdowns. He also caught seven out of eight targets for 71 yards and another touchdown.
This performance was remarkable as McCaffrey scored a career-best four touchdowns, marking his third 100-yard rushing performance in four weeks. Despite not recording 20 or more yards, he managed to gain 177 combined yards from scrimmage through his 27 touches. This season, McCaffrey has taken on a workhorse role after reaching 20 contacts in every game so far. However, this workload may lighten up as the 49ers approach the playoffs.
In their next match against the Cowboys, expect another heavy dose of McCaffrey when the two long-time rivals face off on Sunday night.
