Injuries have been a constant for the Rams in the 2022 NFL season, and now they have suffered a major loss for the matchup against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 13 in Los Angeles.

Head coach Sean McVay announced that Aaron Donald has sprained his ankle and will be ruled out of the game against the Seahawks at SoFi Stadium.

The defensive tackle for the Los Angeles team suffered the injury during the previous week's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. This will mean Donald will miss his first game due to injury since joining the NFL in the first round of the 2014 Draft.

Of the 140 possible regular season games during his NFL career, Donald has missed only two, and none due to injury. Both games were in the 2017 NFL season. The first was in Week 1, when the defensive end was in a contract dispute; and the second was in Week 17, when the four-time Defensive Player of the Year was rested by the team because their playoff berth was clinched.

Also, the head coach was accurate in predicting that Matthew Stafford would not play Sunday. The quarterback has been in concussion protocol with a neck injury since last week.

A possible rest for the Rams’ stars

McVay did not rule out resting Donald, Kupp and Stafford for the remainder of the season due to their results and the slim prospect of advancing to the postseason. So far, the Rams are at the bottom of the NFC West at 3-8 and are the second-worst team in the entire NFC.
