Roger Goodell delivers bold message at the Super Bowl Opening Night: This is what the commissioner told reporters
The Kansas City Chiefs are in their third straight Super Bowl, and some are saying they have been on the receiving end of some favorable calls from the refs.

The Kansas City Chiefs are the dynasty of this generation. Like it or love it, Patrick Mahomes and and KC have a chance to make history with an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl. Some think they have got there with the refs help, but the NFL’s commissioner thinks otherwise.
Chiefs aiming for historic third straight Super Bowl
The Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles in a rematch of Super Bowl LVII. There was a questionable defensive holding call awarded to KC late in that game, and that allowed the Chiefs to run the clock out before kicking the game winning field goal. That was apparently the tip of the ice berg, not just for this Super Bowl run that Andy Reid’s team has been on, but also for the start of the conspiracy talks.
There have been a couple calls in this year’s playoff run that have raised a question or two. First came a couple of roughing the passer calls against the Houston Texans that led to points for the Chiefs in what turned out to be a one possession game. Then came the 4th and 1 stop in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs game against the Bills. The call on the field was Josh Allen was stopped short, and then the replay confirmed it.
Godell dismisses ref bias
Call it a conspiracy, call it an agenda or blame it on the “script” of the NFL, but commissioner Roger Goodell isn’t buying it. “It sort of reminds me of ‘the script’. That I have a script of the entire season.” Goodell said. “A lot of those theories happen on social media, and take a new life .
With their three Super Bowls in the last five years, Kansas City has gained a lot of fandom over the last half decade, especially with their new demographic of Swifties that have joined Chiefs Nation. With that love comes a lot of hate from fans around the league. “I think it reflects a lot of the fans passion. But it’s also a reminder of how important officiating is” continued commissioner Goodell.
In the end, “The Duke” had a very staunch stance on the perceived notion that the refs are showing favoritism to the two-time defending champs. “It’s a ridiculous theory for anyone who might take it seriously. But at the end of the day it’s always something we have to continue to work on, how do we make our officiating better?”
