This is Harrison Butker's contract with the Chiefs: Salary, years left, stats, field goal range and percentage
The kicker was in the spotlight in 2024 for the wrong reasons after making some controversial remarks at the Benedictine College commencement ceremony.

The KC Chiefs' kicker could be the difference between winning and losing Super Bowl LIX, but his remarks in 2024 got him in some hot water. The LGBTQ+ community was up and arms and so were women all over the country after he said, “I’m on this stage, and able to be the man I am, because I have a wife who leans into her vocation,” amongst others
Who is Harrison Butker?
To be frank, Harrison Butker was always going to be a star in the NFL. Born on July 14, 1995, in Decatur, Georgia, the young placekicker attended Georgia Tech where it didn’t take long for his kicking skills with the Yellow Jackets to draw attention. Indeed, Butker quickly became one of the nation’s best kickers, even setting a school record in 2016 for the longest field goal at 53 yards. In 2017, he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the seventh round of the NFL Draft and since that time, has established himself as one of the league’s most accurate kickers.
Now 29 years old, Butker continues to shine for the Chiefs and will be hoping to do that once more when they take on the Eagles in Super Bowl LIX. Interestingly, Butker is also known for the extensive amount of charitable work that he does off of the field. His philanthropic efforts have included supporting children’s hospitals as well as several charitable causes, something that his wife, Isabelle Butker, also participates in consistently.
Butker’s range and percentage rate
Despite an injury in the 2024 season, Butker had a good year making 84 percent of his field goals in the regular season and 100 percent in the postseason. During his career he has made field goals over 60 yards with his longest against the Buffalo Bills in 2022, which was 62 yards.
So, what does Harrison Butker’s contract look like?
Back in 2019, the Chiefs signed Butker to a five-year, $20.3 million contract extension. The deal took effect in 2020 and will run through 2024 meaning this is in fact the final year of his contract. Where this season is concerned, Butker earned approximately $3.55 million, with $700,000 in signing bonus. In 2024, Butker earned a base salary of $3.7 million and a workout bonus of $50,000, while carrying a cap hit of $4.6 million and a dead cap value of $728,796. If you’re wondering where he ranks on the list of highest-paid kickers, you might be surprised to know that Butker is actually the 11th highest-paid kicker in the NFL.
