Why isn’t D’Andre Swift playing for the Bears against the Bengals? Chicago RB injury report
The Chicago Bears will be without running back Swift in Cincinnati today, as Ben Johnson’s men take on the Bengals.

D’Andre Swift will play no part in the Bears’ matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals today, as the running back deals with a groin injury that Chicago’s head coach, Ben Johnson, says has been “a chronic thing for a while now”.
Swift has started all seven of the Bears’ games so far in 2025, but has been listed as “out” on the team’s injury report for the Bengals clash.
“A week-to-week deal”
Swift was unable to take part in practice this week, and Johnson told reporters on Friday that the 26-year-old has been “feeling something” since before the Week 6 win over the Washington Commanders.
“We’re just doing our due diligence to make sure that we’re getting the best version of Swift to help this team, for him and his individual success,” Johnson said, per ChicagoBears.com’s Gabby Hajduk. “We just want to make sure that we have him in a good spot for the whole season.
“It’s a week-to-week deal with where he’s at. But he understands, he’s a tough guy. I mean, he wants to be out there competing and playing for his teammates. He wants to win games, help his team win games. A little bit for us is we got to protect him from himself, too.”
This season, Swift has run for 464 yards and four touchdowns, and received for 192 yards and one TD.
Bears injury report for Week 9:
- Out: Luther Burden III (concussion), Roschon Johnson (back), Amen Ogbongbemiga (knee), Dominique Robinson (ankle), D’Andre Swift (groin).
