He was one of the younger and more successful players to join the LIV Tour in 2022. A lot of people wondered why someone with so much more golf ahead of him would want to take the money and run and renounce the fame and the glory of the PGA Tour. Well, things seem to be working out for Koepka as he just won his fifth major at the 2023 PGA Champoinship.

Career on the PGA Tour: victories and earnings

Koepka played in 174 PGA events in 10 years before going to the LIV Tour. He has won five majors:

He played on the Ryder Cup team for the US in 2016, 2018, 2021 and 2023 and won the President’s Cup with Team USA in 2017. He won eight times on the PGA Tour and has earned approximately $43.4 million in winnings on the PGA Tour without taking into account sponsorship deals.

LIV Contract

He is rumored to have been paid a signing bonus of $100 million to join the Saudi-backed golf tour. Some say he has regrets and he has admitted that he misses playing against the best. “It’s just competitively where you miss playing against them. That’s one thing I do miss,” he said. He made the decision to take the LIV money when he was physically in a bad place, with a banged up knee and an uncertain future. He says he has no regrets about leaving the PGA, but what’s he going to say? “Honestly, yeah, probably, if I’m being completely honest. I think it would have been. But I’m happy with the decision I made,” he said.

Net worth

His net worth is roughly calculated at $50 million, according to Forbes, but there is a lot of information that we don’t know about his LIV contract, how the wins are paid out on that tour and other information about his earnings from the “other tour.” That amount has increased since his recent wins on the LIV tour and at the 2023 PGA Championship, but let’s leave it at an even $50 million, despite earning $77 million in 2023 alone.

His wife Jena Sims

She made an appearance on the Netflix documentary “Full Swing” where viewers get a good look at their house on Jupiter Island in Florida and get to meet Koepka’s 35-year-old wife. She is a model and an actress and has film credits on “Attack of the 50-foot Cheerleader,” “Sharknado 5,” “Global Swarming” and some other movies. She participated in the 2007 Miss Teen USA beauty pageant and has been on TV Shows: “Entourage,” “Dexter” and “One Tree HIll.” She also runs a non-profit organization “Pageant of Hope,” which helps children with cancer and other disadvantages. Sims is one of the best-known WAGS on the LIV and PGA Tour.

The PGA definitely lost a star when Koepka left and he has some regrets too. Despite a lackluster season in 2024 at the majors, he has proven to be one of golf’s superstars and fans are looking forward to seeing more of him if LIV and PGA can find a way to make peace so we can see some of the LIV golfers play again.
