The 2022 Genesis Scottish Open is the last PGA Tour event before the 150th Open Championship later this month. The Scottish Open will tee off on Thursday, July 7, and will run through Sunday, July 10.

The tournament will be held at the Renaissance Club in the seaside town of North Berwick, some 20 miles east of Edinburgh in Scotland, for the fourth year in a row. Fourteen of the top players in the world will comprise one of the strongest fields of the season at the competition.

Low scores at the Renaissance Club

The Renaissance Club is known to have a lack of wind, which would explain the low scores recorded at the tournament. The past winning scores have been 22, 11, and 18 under par due to unusually calm conditions. The course was designed by an American with the wind in mind.

Participants at the Scottish Open have yet to play at the course when it is at its most challenging. The period during which the Scottish Open is played has been extraordinarily tranquil thus far, but if winds that are expected this week do hit, players might experience the course under more difficult circumstances.

The Genesis Scottish Open will start on Thursday, July 7, at 2:15 a.m. ET. The Golf Channel will cover the event in the morning, while PGA Tour Live via ESPN+ will feature extended streaming coverage of the tournament highlights.
