Barcelona starting XI against Atlético Madrid | Champions League quarterfinal 1st leg
The young talent of Lamine Yamal is seen as the main advantage for the Blaugrana to overcome their Spanish rivals.

There is little doubt about the starting lineup that will take the field this Wednesday at Camp Nou. In fact, the only real uncertainty lies in the attacking trio, where Lamine Yamal is the only guaranteed starter. The remaining two spots will be contested by Ferran Torres, Marcus Rashford, Robert Lewandowski and even Dani Olmo. From those four, two will get the nod, with a slight edge for the latter pair, particularly given the team’s need for players capable of pressing high and disrupting the opponent’s buildup.
Hansi Flick is placing his trust in Lamine’s ability to create imbalance, especially after a run of sharp performances in recent games. Lewandowski also appears to be in strong form, as evidenced last weekend when he found the net via a rebound, while Olmo is expected to operate on the left with a clear focus on pressing the ball out of the back.Rashford’s inclusion cannot be ruled out entirely, though his lower intensity in high pressing may work against him.

Elsewhere, the lineup appears fully mapped out. Joan García will start in goal, with Jules Koundé returning to the right flank. Pau Cubarsí and Gerard Martín are set to form the central defensive pairing, while João Cancelo will occupy the left side.
There are no major surprises expected in midfield either, particularly in light of the absences of Marc Bernal and Frenkie de Jong due to injury. Eric García, valued for his versatility, is expected to anchor the defensive midfield role alongside Pedri, with Fermín López positioned further forward as the attacking midfielder.
On the bench, Flick will have options to inject fresh energy into the game, including Rashford, Ferran Torres and Alejandro Balde.
