Carlos Vela, one of the best players Mexico has ever produced, and who curiously has never played in Liga MX, spoke at a press conference before the CONCACAF Champions League final against León.

When asked about the possibility of playing in Mexico, he hinted that it could become a reality.

“I’ve never said yes or no to playing [in Liga MX], now I’m here in Los Angeles and I’m very happy, but we know that anything can happen, that you should always be open to listening to any option to decide what’s best for my family, whether here or in Mexico.”

Vela added that his priority is to “win more things with LAFC”.

No pressure in the final

Regarding the second final in LAFC’s history in this tournament, Vela said there is no pressure on them and that both teams have an equal chance of lifting the trophy.

“I don’t think there are favourites either, we both deserve to go for the title. Whoever plays better, whoever takes care of the details, whoever doesn’t make mistakes, whoever takes advantage of anything, will be the one who wins it. We hope that we can be the ones to win the title,” he concluded.
