Motor brand MG set to adorn Chivas jerseys in 2024
The Guadalajara club confirmed the sponsorship venture between the Liga MX side and the motor brand.
Chivas unveiled a new commercial alliance as the club confirmed a deal with MG Motor, a powerful British car brand with Chinese financial backing. With the possible arrival of Erick Gutiérrez at the club still ongoing, the club also availed of the event on Thursday to present the new home and away jerseys for the Apertura 2023 season.
The deal was conducted after the Mexican side appointed IMG to a global sponsorship sales role. The agency will look to leverage Chivas’ widespread popularity in Mexico and the US to help secure international sponsorship deals with leading brands.
Chivas president Amaury Vergara and head of marketing at the club Olimpia Cabral posed together with Zhang Wei, Daniel Nava and Adriana Aguila, President, Vice President and Marketing Director of MG Motor Mexico for the announcement of the new alliance between the football club and motor brand with the event staged at the media centre of the Akron Stadium.
As part of the deal, this season the MG logo will adorn the training jersey of the men’s and women’s teams.From 2024, the MG logo will be key on the official playing jersey of both men’s and women’s teams with MG being allocated a strategic space for the exhibition of its vehicles at the Akron Stadium on match days.
Chivas players will act as as MG ambassadors with both sides set to collaborate jointly in socially responsible initiatives, such as the campaign against breast cancer and other actions promoted by the foundations they support.
