Sporting Kansas City host Club Deportivo Guadalajara at Children’s Mercy Park in a straight shootout to progress to the knockout stages.
Chivas Guadalajara and Sporting Kansas City go head-to-head in the Leagues Cup on Monday evening with a place in the knockout stages up for grabs.
The two sides meet in the final fixture of Group F, where MLS leaders FC Cincinnati have already secured top spot. Cincinnati have recorded a win over Chivas and a penalty shootout victory against Sporting KC.
With Cincinnati safely into the Round of 32, the winner of Chivas vs Kansas will progress while the loser will be eliminated from this year’s competition.
Sporting KC have struggled in MLS this season and currently sit in 11th, three points adrift of the playoff places. Peter Vermes’ side have a chequered history in recent meetings against Mexican opposition; KC were beaten 6-1 by Club Leon in the 2021 Leagues Cup and suffered a chastening 10-2 aggregate loss to CF Monterrey in the 2019 Concacaf Champions League.
They will hope that they can get the better of Liga MX opponents this time around.

Form guide for Chivas vs Kansas City
Let’s have a look at the most recent results for these two teams:
Chivas vs Kansas City: prediction
The two teams came into the Leagues Cup break on very different runs of form. Chivas have made a commanding start to the Liga Apertura campaign with three wins in their first three matches. KC are sitting 11th with just six wins from their 25 games and only LA Galaxy have conceded more than them in the West.
Home advantage should give Kansas City a boost, but we expect Chivas to have enough to secure passage to the Round of 32.
Prediction: Chivas 2-1 Kansas City.
