The curtain came down last week on the Liga MX Clausura 2023 regular season and after 17 games, four sides (Rayados, America, Chivas and Toluca) secured the top four berth that guaranteed a quarter-final place in the ‘liguilla’ and avoided the ‘banana skin’ that is the repechaje/play-in round.

Teams who finished the season fifth-twelfth will now face a one-off repechaje game where the fifth placed side (Pachuca) face Santos Laguna, who despite finishing 13th, take the place of Queretaro with the Gallos Blancos ineligible to participate in the postseason phase due to their four tournament coefficient ranking.

Sixth place Club Leon will host San Luis, Tigres face Puebla with Cruz Azul taking on Atlas FC at the Azteca.

Liga MX have now confirmed the kick-off times and dates for the four games with the spotlight falling on CDMX on Saturday evening as the ‘Cementeros’ take on Atlas.

The action concludes on Sunday night with the Tigres vs Puebla clash in Nuevo Leon with the winners of these four games being pitted against the top four sides with the lower ranked in the regular season facing the top team (Monterrey).
