CONCACAF W Gold Cup 2024 draw: date, time, pots, teams, format, and how does it work?
The United States hosts the inaugural edition of the women’s Gold Cup kicks off in February 2024 with 12 teams taking part.
The draw for the CONCACAF W Gold Cup 2024 takes place in Miami later this evening. The inaugural edition of the tournament will be played in the United States from February 20 to March 10. Matches will be played at four stadiums with the final taking place at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego on 10 March 2024.
The 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup features the senior women’s national teams of the member associations pertaining to CONCACAF. A total of 12 teams will enter the group stage of the tournament (20-28 February) - eight CONCACAF teams plus four guest teams from the CONMEBOL region.
The group stage follows a round-robin format with the top two teams in each group (A-C) advancing to the quarter finals along with the two-best third-placed teams.
Qualifying: three places left
Nine teams have already qualified for the CONCACAF W Gold Cup 2024. The three remaining places will be filled by the winners of the playoffs - instant knockout ties which will be played on 17 February.
How does the CONCACAF W Gold Cup 2024 draw work?
The three teams in Pot 1 (USWNT, Brazil and Canada) will be drawn into separate groups A to C, joined by one team from each of the other pots.
