Endrick is breaking records after Real Madrid departure
The Brazilian starlet has agreed a six-month loan to Lyon and is already proving a massive hit in France.

Real Madrid’s 19-year-old striker Endrick has made the move to Lyon on a six-month loan. He will hope that the switch can help him reignite his young career and the Brazilian is already proving popular in France.
French soccer is currently on a brief winter break, meaning that Endrick will have to wait for the trip to Monaco on January 3 to make his debut for Lyon. However he has already made his mark.
GOAL reports that Lyon’s Instagram post announcing the Endrick loan has racked up more than 17 million views, making it the club’s most widely-seen post. The previous record-holder was a post announcing the arrival of Liverpool’s Tyler Morton, which managed just 3 million views. Already, Endrick is breaking records.

Why did Real Madrid loan out Endrick?
Endrick joined Real Madrid in July 2024 at the age of 18. By that point he was already a full Brazil international and tipped as one of the biggest talents of his generation. He caught the eye in some early appearances in Madrid but has struggled for playing time, making just one La Liga appearance under Xabi Alonso this season.
In search of more opportunities, Endrick has been allowed to leave on a short-term loan. He will rejoin Alonso’s squad in summer 2026, hopefully having gained valuable experience in a top European league.
His new club are clearly enthused by the arrival, writing on the club website: “At just 19 years of age, Endrick joins OL with already solid experience at the very highest level and a maturity forged in demanding competitive environments. His attacking profile, his impact in decisive areas, and his energy are major assets as the team heads into the second half of the season, with many objectives still to be achieved.”
Real Madrid great Karim Benzema was born in Lyon and spent five seasons in the Lyon first team before making the switch to the Bernabéu. Endrick will hope to follow in Benzema’s illustrious footsteps.
