Guido Pizarro lauds arrival of Cocca: “We returned to habits that we had lost”
The captain stressed that the departure of Miguel Herrera also came as a surprise to them but there’s a good feeling.
A week after the start of the Diego Cocca era at Tigres, inside the locker room there is an improvement in several aspects that seemed to get lost under Miguel Herrera, so says Guido Pizarro. The team captain highlighted that under the supervision of the new coaching staff, they have identified the details that can be improved in order to be a fairly competitive squad.

“Both Diego and his coaching staff have emphasized intensity and teamwork, on returning to habits that we might have lost. They are a coaching team with a lot of experience and they have identified the things that need to be improved and we are working on that,” Pizarro said.
“But more than anything else, intensity, physicality, the duels and working for each ball as if it were the last one. The team is building around that idea. I am not talking about efforts but about how I see football. For the last year and a half due to other details this was not seen.”
As for the unexpected departure of the coach known as ‘Piojo’, Pizarro explained.
“It happened when we were on vacation but as players once we start we have to think about adapting to Diego’s ideology and being professionals in that regard. We recently get to know each other, but it is a team that is able to deliver and assimilates the concepts as quickly as possible, and we are on the way,” he added.
Tigres continue with their preseason work in the Riviera Maya, this to get in shape for the Copa Sky friendlies, which will be held from December 13 at the ‘Volcán’ and will end on the 27th.
