Inter Miami star shocks with bold Premier League claim
Federico Redondo was asked where he thinks the Herons would finish in England during a recent interview.

There’s a lot of pressure on Inter Miami heading into the 2025 season. Since the transformative arrival of Lionel Messi in 2023 the Herons have shown consistent progress, lifting Leagues Cup that year and following it up with the Supporters' Shield in 2024.
In 2025, potentially the last season of Messi and Luis Suárez, the MLS Cup is the main prize. The pressure is high on new head coach Javier Mascherano but another Argentine, midfielder Federico Redondo, is bullish about the team’s quality.
In an interview with Goal, Redondo was asked where he thinks Inter Miami would finish in the Premier League. He responded: "Europa League position“, meaning a fifth- or sixth-placed finish for the Herons. He also claimed that perennial French champions Paris Saint-Germain would finish in second in MLS, behind Inter Miami.
It’s a bold claim from Redondo, who has quietly established himself as one of MLS' most talented young midfielders since arriving one year ago. The 22-year-old is now a regular with the Argentina U23 team and will learn a lot from his Miami teammate, Spanish midfielder Sergio Busquets.
His claims may well be put to the test this summer when Inter Miami take part in the Club World Cup. The Herons are in CWC Group A with Palmeiras, FC Porto and Al Ahly FC but they could face Premier League opposition if they progress to the knock-out rounds. Manchester City and Chelsea, who finished in sixth last season, are the two English representatives in the competition.
