Israel vs Colombia preview
At the European Under-19 Championship in Slovakia, Israel performed exceptionally well and made it to the final. However, they lost to England in extra time. Nevertheless, the Israelis very close to winning the continental title, making the World Cup debutants a tough rival for Colombia, who are appearing at the global tournament for the 11th time.
The Colombians will be looking to improve on their best-ever finish at the World Cup, which came in 2003 when they took bronze. It will surprise many that Luis Quintero did not make the South Americans’ squad. The Villarreal U19s player has been great so far this season, with 17 goals for the youth team. It appears Cárdenas does not believe he is worth the trouble, so Spain’s football federation has been in contact with the player to see if he would be interested in representing them.
