The escalation of tension in relation to the extra-sports facet of FC Barcelona has risen considerably this Sunday. Something that has been happening in recent weeks whenever information relating to what is now known as the ‘Negreira Case’ has been published.

But it was today when Real Madrid decided, in an urgent meeting, to take a crucial step to appear in person in the case, that it reached the maximum possible tension.

What did Joan Laporta say in regard to Real Madrid’s actions?

Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, has quickly come to the fore on his Twitter account to leave a message for the fans of the Catalans.

“Culés, be calm. Barça is innocent of what its being accused of and the victim of a campaign against its honor in which everyone is now involved. No surprise, we will defend Barça and demonstrate the club’s innocence. Many will have to rectify. #TotsUnitsFemForça”

The club’s president might be referring to Real Madrid when he wrote ‘everyone.’ Los Blancos hadn’t commented or taken any action until today concerning the Negreira case. That all changed after the club announced that it would ask to be part of the trial in person after the Prosecutor said the club intended to have Negreira influence referees in favor of the Catalans.
