Messi and Inter Miami learn their route to the Champions Cup final
With the victory against Cavalier FC in the round of 16, Inter Miami now know the path they will have to take to reach the CONCACAF Champions Cup final.

As expected, Inter Miami secured its qualification for the next stage of the CONCACAF Champions Cup this Thursday, setting up a clash with LAFC that could easily be seen as an early final—either in this tournament or even in the MLS Cup.
Javier Mascherano’s team will face the Los Angeles Black & Gold in what promises to be the most significant test of the season next April. A victory over Steve Cherundolo’s squad would clear the path to the final for Messi and company, leaving just eight teams in contention for this coveted title.
The first leg will take place in Los Angeles, followed by the second leg in Fort Lauderdale. Inter Miami will look to capitalize on home advantage in the return fixture to secure a spot in the semifinals—a stage they fell short of reaching last season. Advancing to the semifinals would mark a crucial milestone for the team, especially given that this is only their second participation in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.

Inter Miami’s path to the CONCACAF Champions Cup Final
Inter Miami’s determination to claim the title remains unwavering. After missing out on both the CONCACAF Champions Cup and the MLS Cup last year, the team approaches this season with a clear need to secure at least one trophy, as they continue to build a project now under the guidance of Javier Mascherano.
The quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions Cup will present Inter Miami with its toughest challenge yet, as they take on LAFC—the team to beat. Should they overcome this hurdle, Messi and company would move on to face either Vancouver Whitecaps or Pumas in the semifinal round.

If they make it to the final, Inter Miami could find themselves up against formidable opponents like Club América, Cruz Azul, LA Galaxy, or Tigres. Securing the title would not only mark a historic achievement but also earn them a coveted ticket to compete in the Intercontinental Cup in 2025.
