The transfer saga surrounding Kylian Mbappé and PSG has now moved into a decisive phase of its life cycle, although his exit from the French club is nowhere near being confirmed as of yet. On Monday July 31, Mbappé's clause to renew until 2025 expires, and he will receive €40 million of his €80 million loyalty bonus from his club.

Through a letter sent to his club on June 13, the striker made official his desire to not take up PSG on that offer of an extra year, although he also made clear his wish to see out his deal with the French side so as not to lose a single euro of the lucrative contract that remains in place.

PSG pessimistic over Mbappé deal

Now, a sense of pessimism has started to creep in from the team regarding a sale of the player. Although Al Khelaïfi and Qatar have accepted the fact they will have to negotiate with different clubs, among them Al Hilal, the only club that the player would be open to leaving for is Real Madrid. However, the Spanish side are yet to lift a finger and remain in the shadows. According to RMC Sport, PSG are expecting “an insulting offer”, from Real Madrid, one that is “extremely low” for the French captain.

What is clear right now is that Florentino Pérez and Real Madrid have not picked up the phone to call Al Khelaïfi with the idea of starting negotiations for the player. PSG, who wanted to resolve Mbappé's future before the July 31 deadline, are aware that time is against them and the chances of him staying in Paris are limited unless he decides to sign a new deal with the club.

Mbappé trains on his own in Paris

The moves made by Al Khelaïfi, for his part, have not had the desired effect on Mbappé, who remains away from the first team squad along with the rest of the outcast players, even looking happy while signing autographs for fans and taking photos with children outside the training ground. Mbappé, who took advantage of his days off to go to Monaco, will return to training on Monday 31: nobody knows what will happen in the end with the player, who may still see his current club reach an agreement with Real Madrid.
