A victory in the 2022 World Cup final for Les Bleus will be history in the making, and the streets of the European country will erupt.
December 2022 could see France win back-to-back World Cups for the first time since Brazil did it in 1958 and 1962. Only Italy have managed the same feat, which they achieved in 1934 and 1938. So what celebrations can we expect if that comes to pass?
Where France celebrate national team wins
You’ll be unsurprised to learn that the country’s capital Paris will come to a standstill, just as it did in 2018. The triumph in Russia came 20 years after France first won the pinnacle of global football and that saw fans flood the streets around the famous Champs Élysées.
Four years ago, that stretch of the Parisian centre also saw the team arrive back from the World Cup, trophy in hand, to be with their hero-worshiping compatriots. Flags were waved, scarfs swung as the open-top bus travelled down the crowded street at snail’s pace, while jets flew overhead spouting out the famous red, white and blue colours to fill the air.
And thats’s not all. Once mingling with the fans, giving many even more reason to dream in their life goals, Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, hosted the players and coaches at the presidential palace, along with hundreds of young footballers from the poorer suburbs.
Of course, supporters all across the European country will spill onto the streets of their cities, towns and villages to rejoice. And we’ll all get a good feel of what’s going on via news reports and social media coverage.
