The Mexican teenager isn’t on the field anymore, but there’s a good reason he’s still following the tournament from the stands.
This should have been your night, Mora. But now all you can do is watch it unfold like any other fan. The kid who gave an entire country hope could have been out there this afternoon, playing England in the World Cup quarterfinals. Instead, life had other plans. Gilberto Mora’s moment will have to wait.
Rafaela Pimenta, the Xolos player’s agent, shared an Instagram Story showing herself and “Morita” enjoying the Norway vs. England match at the 2026 World Cup. After Mexico’s elimination at the hands of England, Mora posted on social media that he had begun a short vacation in Florida. Now, it seems clear why he chose that destination.
The youngster is living his final days of freedom. In the coming days, he is due to report back to Club Tijuana and resume training with his club. Sebastián “Loco” Abreu’s side is already preparing for the start of a new campaign, with its Apertura 2026 opener against Tigres scheduled for Thursday, July 16. It remains unclear whether Mora will be available for that match.

The Mexican teenager and Haaland share a unique link. Both players are represented by the same agent: Rafaela Pimenta.
The renowned soccer agent saw something special in “Morita” early on and decided to take him under her wing, with the aim of helping him reach the biggest stage when the time is right. Pimenta also represents players including Santiago Giménez, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
