Usain Bolt is scheduled to play for Manchester United in a legends game against Barcelona, providing he recovers from the hamstring strain he suffered in his final major race in the 4x100m at the 2017 World Championships in London.

The Jamaican sprint great has always professed a desire to carve out a career in football after he hangs up his spikes and is a Manchester United fan, once famously calling up a radio phone-in show to discuss the team – and having to convince the presenter he was not a hoaxer.

Turning out for Barcelona will be Gaizka Mendieta, Eric Abidal, Miguel Ángel Nadal, Gheorghe Popescu, Ion Andoni Goikoetxea and Julio Salinas, among others.
