Real Madrid's Isco takes the plaudits from world press
The focus of much that was good about Los Blancos' play in the win over Espanyol was on the man from Málaga accentuated by his two crucial goals.
Isco returned to a starring role for Real Madrid in their 2-0 win over Espanyol on Sunday evening. Los Blancos' fans at the Santiago Bernabéu had their chance to applaud the Spaniard in person and the world's media followed up after the game.
L'Équipe (France)
"Just 23 seconds into the game, Isco already had a great chance. But the international midfielder made up for it with a brace - his 11th and 12th of 2017, more than any other midfielder in LaLiga - to give his side their fourth victory of the campaign".
Daily Mirror (UK)
"Star of the show. Could even have had a hat-trick if he had slotted away his first chance inside 30 seconds."
The British tabloid gave the player an 8/10 rating, unsurprisingly the highest in the team.
"Isco was highly impressive throughout"
Daily Mail (UK)
"Isco struck twice as champions Real Madrid beat Espanyol 2-0 to claim their first home win of the season in La Liga on Sunday. Isco's second goal in the 71st minute ended Espanyol's hopes Isco was highly impressive throughout and had his first opportunity of the game came with just 22 seconds on the clock."
ESPN
The British edition of the website highlighted manager Zinedine Zidane's flattery of the Málaga man: ""He knows he is an important player with Real Madrid. He plays as you play in the street, and I like that. He does not get worried if things don't come off."
