Former Liverpool captain-turned TV football pundit Jamie Carragher pointed out that Mohamed Salah's brilliant second goal against Tottenham had a touch of the Leo Messi's about it. The fleet-footed Egyptian produced a moment of magic late in the 2-2 draw on Sunday, weaving his way through the Spurs defence before slotting in his second goal of the game. It certainly bore all the hallmarks of the Argentinean.

Salah sizzles, Klopp goes wild

It reminded Carragher of the kind of goals which Barça ace Messi frequently scores. "The only man who can score that goal is Lionel Messi," the Liverpool great told Sky Sports. "If you think of Messi and the types of goals he scores, that's what he does in tight areas, dinking the keeper." It also sent Reds manager Jürgen Klopp into ecstasy - the German reacted by sprinting down the by-line twowards the Kops wildly punching his arms in the air.

Salah overtakes Mido's Premier League record

Salah's double against Spurs took his season's tally to 21 in the domestic league and 28 overall - he is the fastest Liverpool player to reach those figures during the Premier League era. It also brought up his 23rd goal in the Premier League (including the two he scored for Chelsea) which means he has now overtaken Mido as the top-scoring Egyptian player of all-time in the English game. Mido hit 22 goals during his time at Spurs, Middlesbrough and Wigan Athletic.
