Sampdoria joke about Sergio Ramos' 'look' at the AFE
The Real Madrid captain caught some attention on Wednesday when he turned up at the Footballers Association meeting in the Italian club's colours.
Twitter, for all its ills, is a place where there can be some fun moments, impossible in the pre-social media era. One example of this arose with Serie A club Sampdoria having a little amusement with Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos.
Ramos outfit ideal for Samp
On Wednesday, Ramos had turned up for the much-anticipated meeting of the Spanish Footballers Association, along with other captains and representatives of all LaLiga clubs. The most significant output from the meeting was that there was a unanimous agreement from the players that they were against the league's plan to play an official game in the USA.
Despite the importance of that particular event, images of the Real Madrid captain gained a lot of attention from social media users, some appreciating his fashion sense, while others softly mocked. And it wasn't long before the man himself gave followers a better view, with him posing in the same shirt on Instagram.
With the coloured stripes, the shirt also grabbed the attention of Italian side Sampdoria, who commented on Twitter:
"Are you guys sure the transfer window is definitely closed? Sergio Ramos looks great with our colours."
It would take an unlikely turn of events for that particular transfer to happen this summer. However, maybe Sergio was giving them a wink for the future...
