Valdano: "No player at Real Madrid has the talent of a goalscorer"
The former Real Madrid player and manager says Real Madrid lost their best goalscorer in history and they have nobody with the particular talent they lost.
Jorge Valdano, the former Real Madrid player, manager and sporting director, believes the club have a serious problem in front of goal. Speaking to El Transistor on Onda Cero, when he analysed the team's poor run of results, he spoke of his worry about Lopetegui's future.
Lack of confidence: "The most grave problem Real Madrid have right now is the lack of confidence, some players are not taking risks."
Missing Cristiano Ronaldo: "At Real Madrid, there was a goal fanatic who is no longer there, Real Madrid lost their greatest goalscorer in their history."
Sacking Lopetegui: "Sacking a manger is always a failure."
Lack of goals at Real Madrid: "The talent of a goalscorer is more particular than that of a goalkeeper, and now there is not player at Real Madrid with it."
Turning the situation around: "I think that it's within Lopetegui's reach to get a reaction from this team."
