Isco fails to make the bench for Real Madrid
The Real Madrid midfielder, who has not started any of Solari’s five games in charge, was forced to take a seat in the stands for the Champions League match in Rome.
Isco not only failed to make the starting XI for Real Madrid’s Champions League match against Roma, he didn’t even make it onto the bench. The midfielder travelled to Rome, but Solari decided not to use him in any capacity, sending him to the stands alongside Luca Zidane, the third keeper.
Solari has no faith in Isco
The relationship between the new Real Madrid coach and Isco appears to be fundamentally broken at this point. From being a regular starter for the side, Isco has failed to be in the line-up for any of Solari’s five games in charge, since he took over from Julen Lopetegui. He didn’t travel to Melilla for the Copa del Rey game (like many other first teamers) but also didn’t start against: Valladolid, Plzen, Celta or Eibar. Many expected tonight in the Champions League to be his opportunity, but no, he’ll watch the game alongside the fans.
Spain coach Luis Enrique has kept the faith with Isco, he’s played all available minutes since the World Cup, except for the games he missed with his appendicitis (Wales in Cardiff and England in Seville). Under Lopetegui Isco was a key man, playing whenever available, with Solari the situation is the opposite.
