Porto secured their place in the knockout round of the Champions League and finished top of their group after gaining a 2-3 win in Istanbul last night. The team dropped just two points on their way to the Last 16 and goalkeeper Iker Casillas underlined the importance of ending the group stage with a win: "We came here to Turkey to claim all three pointsand get a result like this. We've finished top of the group. We're playing at a great level", the keeper told AS after the game.

Age is not an issue

Casillas says he's open to the idea of returning to represent Spain one day if he is called on but insists that ultimately, the decision isn't his: "Well, that's for Luis Enrique to decide. I have to keep putting the hours in on the training pitch. Obviously I'm hopeful that one day I might get called up again, I hope so... I know that there is a lot of competition for places with the Spain squad. I'll keep working hard, I'm 37 but they don't need to look at your birth certificate to call you for the national team".

Casillas thumbs up for Solari appointment

Iker only had positive things to say about recently-appointed Real Madrid coach Santiago Solari, who he knows from their five seasons together as players at the Bernabéu: "He's a real pro, I'm sure he's going to achieve a lot of success".
