Real Madrid: Isco out of Solari's squad despite being fit
The Real Madrid manager has named 21 players for the trip to the Ciutat de Valencia, with Brahim Díaz included at the expense of the Spain international.
Brahim Díaz has been named in a Real Madrid squad for the first time since January 24 with Santiago Solari including the 19-year-old midfielder for the league trip to Levante on Sunday evening.
Brahim had not made a squad since the Copa fixture against Girona last month and did not get off the bench in that game. In total, he has played just 24 minutes for Real Madrid since his 15-million-euro move from Manchester City.
The most notable absentee from Solari’s squad is Isco, who despite returning to fitness after a back issue and training with his teammates without problems has again been left out entirely. The relationship between the Spain midfielder and Solari appears to have reached a point of no return and the 26-year-old will be left behind alongside Álvaro Odriozola, who is also available but has been left out as a technical decision.
Luka Modric returns after missing the Girona game through suspension and Jesús Vallejo has been called up to cover for the absence of Sergio Ramos, who sits this one out after his sending off last weekend.
Casemiro and Nacho will make the trip to the Ciutat de Valencia, where a yellow card for either will rule them out of the Liga Clásico next weekend.
