Costa's future at Atleti in doubt
The future of 30-year old Costa at Atleti is in serious doubt, with the striker having had a poor second spell at the club, with a combination of poor form and injury hampering his performances.
The Hispano-Brazilian striker has only featured in 21 of Atleti's 44 games this season (16 in LaLiga, four UCL ties and the Super Cup), featuring in just 38% of potential playing time.
Costa's eight match ban for abuse and aggression towards referee Gil Manzano in the LaLiga match against Barcelona did not help the situation, nor did his failure to train with the club - though the player later blamed this on a tax authority investigation.
Atleti ready to listen to offers for Costa
Costa has a deal that runs through to 2021, but it seems ever more likely that Atleti will listen to offers for him, giving credence to the possibility of the swap deal with PSG going through.
What's more, Atlético Madrid still have Edinson Cavani on their potential targets list, since coach Diego Simeone made clear his desire to work with the Uruguayan (now 32) a couple of seasons ago.
