It looks like the problems for David Beckham and Inter Miami are far from over, as the new expansion franchise has found itself facing a new challenge. An environmental analysis has shown that the site for the stadium has reached twice the legal limit for arsenic contamination.

According to the Miami Herald, the land in Melreese where the team's sports complex 'Miami Freedom Park' will be located has levels of toxicity that represent "physical danger," as it is very close to the surface.

This new setback Inter Miami is facing could prove to be extremely expensive, and as Miami Mayor Francis Suarez revealed, costs to clean up the land could go further than 50 million dollars.

Beckham's MLS project has increased to around $1 billion as, besides the unexpected costs for the environmental issue, Inter Miami aims to revamp the site into a commercial complex alongside the new team stadium.

The Department of Environmental Resources Management has taken its own test to determine the clean-up plan, but as of now, David Beckham and co. will have to wait to know how to proceed.
