Spain host Germany in the final round of Nations League matches with a clear assignment on the table for Luis Enrique’s side: La Roja must defeat Joachim Löw’s side to reach the finals next year. Germany hold the advantage going into the game in Seville with a draw good enough for the visitors to book their place in the final four.

When the two sides met on the opening day in Group A4 José Luis Gayà rescued a point with an equaliser in the 96th minute at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Stuttgart after Timo Werner had put the hosts ahead.

The Chelsea forward is in a rich vein of form with five goals in his last five games for club and country and will provide Germany’s main goal-scoring threat with Leroy Sané and Leon Goretzka in support.

For Spain, after a 1-1 draw in Switzerland in which Sergio Ramos grabbed the headlines after missing two penalties in one match after landing his previous 25, Sergio Busquets will be a big miss with the Barcelona midfielder absent through injury. Luis Enrique will also have to address his side’s recent lack of goals after playing without a recognized striker in Basel with Ansu Fati unavailable. Gerard Moreno climbed off the bench to rescue a draw at the weekend and may be handed a start in Seville.
