LA Galaxy vs LAFC: MLS match preview

LA Galaxy and LAFC both come into Sunday’s Los Angeles derby, known as ‘El Tráfico’, on runs of poor form in the MLS Western Conference - particularly the hosts.

Sixth-placed Galaxy have lost their past three games and are now winless in eight, having last claimed all three points back in mid-August. The negative streak has seen Greg Vanney’s men slip to within one point of dropping out of the play-off places.

Although their form is not quite as bad as Galaxy's, LAFC have also been beaten in their last three MLS games, and now sit down in ninth in the Western Conference, five points adrift of the final play-off spot in seventh.

The visitors will be without star striker Carlos Vela, who is suffering from a hamstring injury.
