Christian Pulisic scores second goal of season for Chelsea
The United States men’s national team playmaker came on as a substitute to score his first club goal in over two months in Chelsea’s 3-0 win against Leicester City.
Chelsea remain at the top of the table in the Premier League after defeating Leicester City 3-0 on the road on Saturday. The Blues remain in first place with 29 points, four more than second-placed Liverpool, with a record of nine wins, two draws and only one defeat.
Pulisic scores second league goal
Antonio Rüdiger, N’Golo Kanté and Christian Pulisic scored at the King Power Stadium to give Chelsea the victory and the three points. This was the first club goal for Pulisic in more than three months and his second in the current Premier League campaign.
The last time the United States international scored this season for Chelsea was on 14 August on matchday 1 against Crystal Palace. That was also the last game that Pulisic started a game for Chelsea, because after that match he tested positive for coronavirus and then suffered an ankle injury.
The 23-year-old is almost in his best form after being injured for two months and is playing more minutes for club and national team. Last week Pulisic scored in the United States' 2-0 victory against Mexico in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2022 World Cup.
