‘Tecatito’ Corona to sign a three and a half year-deal with Sevilla

Jesús ‘Tecatito’ Corona lost his place in the starting XI with Porto this season and he is ready to make the switch in search of more minutes with the World Cup around the corner. According to media outlets in Spain, the Mexico international will join Sevilla on a three and a half-year deal and he is expected to arrive in the next couple of days.

Corona will be a good fit for Sevilla

The team managed by Julen Lopetegui is one of the top contenders to win the 2021/22 LaLiga season, but they have struggled with injuries in the past few months. So they need to bring players for the second part of the season in order to make a run to lift the title this campaign.

Currently they are in second place with 44 points, five behind first place Real Madrid, but they have one less game so they could shorten the distance. Jesús Corona brings several solutions for Lopetegui because he can play as an offensive winger on either the left or right side and he can also play as a right back in defence.

The Mexico international had several offers on the table to leave Porto during the winter transfer window, but he wants to play in LaLiga. Corona was linked to a move to Olympique Marseille, but negotiations fell apart due to his high demands.
