Jesús ‘Tecatito’ Corona made his debut with Sevilla on Sunday in a 2-1 defeat against rivals Real Betis in Copa del Rey round of 16. The Mexican international replaced Rafa Mir in the 67th minute, but couldn’t help his team advance to the next round of the tournament.

“I have had a positive feeling since I arrived here [Sevilla]. I am happy to be here and to have played my first minutes with this jersey. It is not the best way to start [losing a derby] but that result is in the past and as a group we will fight to accomplish the next goals,” he said after the match.
Corona spoke about the relationship he has had with Lopetegui since arriving last week. The Mexican international said that he felt like home from the beginning and he chose the No 9 jersey because he can score a lot of goals for this team.
“Since I arrived in Sevilla they have treated me and my family very well. I think when a coach treats you well, the player has more confidence and can perform better. Wearing the No 9 jersey puts more pressure on me. I think I can be an offensive threat and score more goals to help the team,” he added.
