Chicharito emphasizes the growth of MLS
Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernández is ready for the start of the 2022 Major League Soccer regular season with the Los Angeles Galaxy. This will be his third year in the league and he has seen the growth of the league in a short period of time. The Mexican international praised the level of MLS and it is a direct result of Canada and the USMNT being so strong in the qualifiers.
“I would love that the young players leaving MLS to play in Europe were from Mexico and that there were 15 or 20 of us in the best clubs. The league is doing an amazing job and there is still much work to be done, but they will get there,” he said.
“In one season they have transferred like 10 American players in a two week period. Obviously, as a result the United States men’s national team and Canada have improved so much and become so difficult to defeat,” he added.
