2022 NBA All Star: who will be the coaches this year?

The NBA All-Star Game 2022 will take place on Feb. 20, with fans voting in LeBron James and Kevin Durant to be the team captains for the second year in a row. But who have been designated as the team’s coaches?
The coaches for the All-Star game are decided by the standings of the teams. NBA regulations also state that coaches who were chosen the year before are ruled out of the running for the current year.

Team Durant coach: Erik Spoelstra, Miami Heat
Team Durant will have Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra at the helm, as his team led the Chicago Bulls by half a game for the number one spot in the Eastern Conference at the time of the cutoff date. It will be the second time for Spoelstra to serve as an All-Star coach, as he was first given the honor in 2013.
The Heat coaching staff, composed of Malik Allen, Caron Butler, Anthony Carter, Octavio De La Grana, Eric Glass, and Chris Quinn, willl join the second-longest tenured coach in the NBA in Cleveland.
Team LeBron coach: Monty Williams, Phoenix Suns
Meanwhile, Monty Williams of the Phoenix Suns will direct Team LeBron, as they have the best record in the Western Conference as well as in the league. It will be the first time for Williams to coach in an All-Star Game, and he will be the first head coach from the Suns to call the plays in one since 2007.
His coaching staff will be working with him on Sunday, composed of Randy Ayers, Mark Bryant, Bryan Gates, Jarrett Jack, Brian Randle, Michael Ruffin, Steve Scalzi, and Kevin Young.
The 71st NBA All-Star 2022 Game will be held in Cleveland Ohio. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
