February has been a big month for Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. After winning the Super Bowl, he has announced the birth of his child with girlfriend Lauren Wood.

Beckham: New baby a big blessing

In the lengthy post, he called baby Zydn “the biggest blessing” he has ever had in his life, and credited Wood with giving him strength.

ACL surgery a success

Aside from the new addition to their family, the 29-year-old also shared that he recently underwent knee surgery which turned out successfully. His Instagram post showed his left leg securely bandaged.

Beckham tore his left ACL in the Rams’ Super Bowl win against the Cincinnati Bengals, where he was expected to deliver a big performance before he hurt his knee. He scored the Rams’ first touchdown of the game, and caught passes for 52 yards on three targets.

He injured his knee with a few minutes left in the first half, after which he had to sit out the rest of the game. The ACL damage is the second one to the same knee.

He sustained the injury at an inopportune time as he is set to enter free agency. The Rams have yet to indicate whether they are inclined to keep the 2014 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year on their roster.

Beckham has been open about what he wants next for his football career- he has expressed his desire to stay with the Rams, saying he was open to taking a pay cut to be able to do so.
