C.J. Uzomah left Cincinnati to sign with the New York Jets
C.J. Uzomah, the fan-favorite tight end who just came off an explosive season with the Cincinnati Bengals, has signed with the NY Jets for a 3-year deal.
One of Cincinnati’s favorite players is saying goodbye to the Bengals as he prepares for a new home with the New York Jets.
Tight end C.J. Uzomah, who won the hearts of Cincinnati’s fans with his charisma, leadership and performance, signed a three-year deal worth $24 million with the New York.
In his seven years with the Bengals, Uzomah went for 1,591 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 163 receptions. Just last season, the 29-year-old caught 49 receptions, five TDs, and 493 yards, for a career high in all three categories.
Uzomah was an essential part of Cincinnati’s best season in 2021, and shined as one of the main leaders in the locker room, helping the team make it to Super Bowl 56. To him, the standard was not winning a post-season game. The standard was “making it to the Super Bowl.”
This is the kind of leadership Uzomah brought to the Bengals, which he is now going to relay to New York and its Jets.
