USYNT player Adrian Gill signs three-year contract with Barcelona
The Colorado native has been developing in Barcelona’s youth academy and on Friday he signed a three-year contract with the LaLiga side.
Adrian Simon Gill is living his dream and with his good performances for the Barcelona youth academy he has been rewarded with a new contract. On Friday, the LaLiga side announced that the American playmaker has officially signed a new three-year deal to remain with the club and will play with the U19 side.
The teenager joined Barcelona’s youth academy in July 2021 and has been playing for the U16 side since then. Gill has had some impressive performances and at times wore the number 10 jersey at Barça’s famed La Masia academy.
Gill could play with Sergiño Dest
If the 16-year-old continues with his positive development at La Masia academy, Gill could eventually be considered to play for the first team in the upcoming season. This would mean that he could become the third American, behind Sergiño Dest and Konrad de la Fuente, to play for FC Barcelona.
Gill has also been a part of the United States U17 national team fold since last year. He even joined the training camp of the USYNT in January in preparation for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup that will be played in Peru.
