And the box office winner is… This is the highest grossing Best Picture nominee at the 2025 Oscars
Critical success doesn’t always lead to financial rewards—here’s how the 10 Best Picture nominees at the 2025 Oscars have performed at the box office.

The 10 films nominated for Best Picture at the 2025 Oscars cover a fantastic range of material, from the body horror of The Substance to the dazzling sci-fi of Dune: Part Two; equally diverse are the films’ returns at the box office.
The smash blockbusters, Wicked and Dune: Part Two, are in a different league when it comes to Box Office receipts, with both having brought in well over $700 million. As of February 28, Wicked leads the pack with $728.3 million worldwide. The fantasy romance is now the top-grossing pic based on a Broadway musical, passing Mamma Mia!, which grossed $611.5 million worldwide since its June 2008 release.
Close behind is Dune: Part Two, which has grossed $714.6 million worldwide, including $432.5 million domestically.
In third place is Conclave, which recently crossed the $100 million mark. The Fiennes-led Papal thriller is nominated for 8 Oscars.
It’s also important to consider release dates—films that debuted later, such as The Nickel Boys (released December 13), have had significantly less time to accumulate box office revenue.
