Hollywood’s stars to take the stage: Meet the celebrity lineup of 2025 Academy Awards presenters
In a series of announcements in recent weeks, the Academy has revealed a star-studded cast of Oscar presenters.
Ahead of next month’s Oscars, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has in recent weeks been announcing the star names tasked with presenting golden statuettes to this year’s winners.
Who has been announced as a 2025 Oscar presenter?
At the beginning of February, the Academy confirmed that Robert Downey Jr., Cillian Murphy, Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Emma Stone will, as expected, be among the presenters at the 97th Oscars.
This is in keeping with Academy Awards tradition, which dictates that the recipients of the previous year’s Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards be on hand to present. Murphy and Stone scooped 2024’s Best Actor and Actress accolades, respectively, while Downey Jr. and Randolph took home the supporting role awards 12 months ago.
On February 11, the Academy revealed that last year’s main award winners will be joined by Halle Berry, Penélope Cruz, Elle Fanning, Whoopi Goldberg, Scarlett Johansson, John Lithgow, Amy Poehler, June Squibb and Bowen Yang.
Eight days later, a further group of award presenters was confirmed: Joe Alwyn, Sterling K. Brown, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Lily-Rose Depp, Selena Gomez, Goldie Hawn, Connie Nielsen, Ben Stiller and Oprah Winfrey.
Which presenters have won Oscars?
Aside from the returning winners from the 96th Academy Awards, Berry, Cruz, Goldberg and Hawn are all former Oscar recipients.
What’s more, Brown, Dafoe, De Armas, Johansson, Lithgow, Squibb and Winfrey have each been nominated for Academy Awards in past years. Winfrey was also presented the Academy’s Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award in 2011.
When are the 2025 Academy Awards?
Hosted by the comedian Conan O’Brien, the 2025 Oscars are to be held on Sunday, March 2, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California.
Broadcast live in the United States by the TV network ABC, the ceremony is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. ET/4:00 p.m. PT. You can stream ABC on the online platform fubo, which offers new users a free introductory trial.

Who are the favorites at the 2025 Oscars?
According to the betting comparison website Oddschecker, Anora and Conclave are the bookmakers’ frontrunners to scoop Best Picture.
Demi Moore is viewed as the favorite for Best Actress, for her performance in The Substance; Best Actor, meanwhile, appears likeliest to go to either Adrien Brody for The Brutalist, or Timothée Chalamet for A Complete Unknown. Check out the full list of the nominees for the 2025 Oscars.
