Memorial Day 2023: Not quite Black Friday, but expect some great deals from these stores

The official kick off to summer is just around the corner Here’s a rundown of some of the deals you’ll find on Memorial Day, and some are already available.

2023 Memorial Day sales are already available

Memorial Day, the semi-official start to summer, is just around the corner falling on Monday 29 May this year. Along with the first real chance to enjoy the warming weather over a long weekend, retailers are offering some great deals for shoppers to take advantage of.

Prices on a number of items have already been knocked down on furniture, mattresses, patio sets and grills as well as on apparel and electronics. So, whether you need to get your wardrobe ready for summer or spruce up the inside or outside of your home, maybe both, here’s a rundown of some of the deals you’ll find.

Amazon:

For those who can’t wait for Amazon Prime Day, which is slated for sometime in July with no specific date announced yet, Amazon will be slashing prices on fashion, home goods, kitchen essentials, tech, and more.

Wayfair

The Boston-based online furniture retailer, Wayfair, is delivering discounts up to 70% on a wide range of items including appliances, furniture, patio sets and much more. As well, for its Memorial Day Sale, which ahs already commenced, you can get free shipping for purchases over $35.

Overstock:

Overstock is already offering massive markdowns on more than 500,000 items including mattresses, kitchen appliances, patio furniture and rugs.

JCPenney:

Getting ready for summertime, whether it be apparel that will “add some patriotic flair to your backyard BBQ” or livening up your home, you may find it by checking out JCPenney’s Memorial Day sale. Save up to 55%, plus for every purchase of $50 customers will get a $10 Bonus Reward through 29 May. You can also check out 1000s of clearance items marked down by as much as 70 percent.

Target:

The Summer Kickoff Salet at Target is already happening and runs through 29 May. The retailer is dropping prices on items across the board from domestic appliances and household goods for indoors and out as well as apparel.

Lowe’s:

Although the three-day Memorial Day weekend is a great time to get away to the beach or the great outdoors, it can be a good time for doing home improvement projects to get ready for the summer ahead. Lowe’s is offering savings on a wide range of products to get the job done. Shoppers can also take advantage of Daily Deals that are available for 24 hours but only online.

Macy’s:

Shoppers looking for new fashions for the season will find great savings at Macy’s as well as on beauty and fragrance products. Macy’s has savings of between 25% and 40% this Memorial Day. If you’re looking to redecorate your abode or change out your old mattress, Macy’s has deals on furniture and mattresses, in addition to outdoor living items.

REI:

Summer is a time to get outdoors and there is no better time than now to get the gear you need at REI. Through 29 May shoppers can get up to 30% off of just about everything you’ll need for a camping trip or enjoying other summer activities including biking, climbing and hiking.

Walmart:

Walmart is already discouting over a 1,000 items, some over 60% for its Memorial Day Sale. Shoppers will find deals on electronics, home appliances, outdoor entertainment and clothes.
