How to get Arceus in Pokémon Legends Arceus: all requirements

If you're playing Pokémon Legends Arceus and you've been playing for a few dozen hours now, you may be wondering if it's possible to capture Arceus, the Pokémon that gives its name to this game. The short answer is yes. The long answer is what you'll find below, since unlike in Pokémon Pearl and Diamond, this time it is possible to capture the creator god of the Pokémon world. It should be noted, before we begin, that this article contains spoilers and revelations from Pokémon Legends Arceus.

Requirements to capture Arceus in Pokémon Legends Arceus

Arceus is a unique Pokémon, but not just any Pokémon. In Pokémon Legends Arceus we have seen how Game Freak has taken us to a time several hundred years before the present day to explain the vicissitudes of space and time, the origin of the word Sinnoh and how Palkia and Dialga have played a fundamental role in the origin of the Pokémon universe. All this with a root, Arceus, the first existing Pokémon and creator of the saga's world.

How to get Arceus in Pokémon Legends Arceus: all requirements

The capture of Arceus is the last quest (main mission) of the game. To access it, it is necessary to have completed a large part of the endgame and, more specifically, Quest 26: you need the Azure Flute.

  • Obtain the Azure Flute (after completing Quest 26, the mission of Giratina and Volo, one of the hardest confrontations of the saga).
  • Capture all 237 of Hisui's main Pokémon.
  • You have to capture them, it's not enough to register them.
  • You don't need to capture Phione, Manaphy, Darkrai or Shaymin. You can do these quests whenever you want (if you capture them you will have 241, Arceus as final Pokémon, 242 out of 242).

How to battle Arceus in Pokémon Legends Arceus: recommendations

So, we understand that you have already seen the end credits and are doing the Endgame-derived Quests. It is in the Coronet Highlands where it is found Arceus. You have to climb to the top of Mount Coronet and, where the remains of the Spear Pillar lie, summon Arceus.

The battle against Arceus is difficult, but not impossible. It will start like the encounters against Noble Pokémon, with real action and a stance bar that you will have to break with Balms to finally face him in a traditional turn-based battle.

We leave you the following recommendations:

  • Save the game before summoning Arceus with the Azure Flute, thus avoiding having to climb Mount Coronet again.
  • Pay attention to the ZL button to fix the camera and launch the Balms with ZR (leave it pressed for a few tenths of a second to charge the launch).
  • Dodge the light rings by pressing B when they are about to graze you.
  • Don't be in a hurry: in five hits you'll be K.O. It's better to take a little longer and maintain a defensive position, gradually wounding Arceus.
  • When you can knock it out, quickly cast a Pokémon to weaken it and leave it confused for a few seconds. This is when you should throw Balms left and right.

How to change Arceus' type

Once you have captured Arceus, you can change its elemental type. Although it is normal, Arceus can adopt any of the 18 elemental types using the Legend Playe that you have acquired during your adventure in Pokémon Legends Arceus. If you want it to be a Dragon type, use the Dragon Plate from the item inventory.
