Clippers vs Suns game 2 odds and predictions: Who is the favorite?

The Los Angeles Clippers pulled off the upset against the Phoenix Suns in the first game of their series. Will they win again in Arizona?

Update:
The Los Angeles Clippers pulled off the upset against the Phoenix Suns in the first game of their series. Will they win again in Arizona?

The NBA has entered its most exciting moment, as the playoffs have started and every game is a battle to keep advancing toward the title.

All 16 teams have already played their first-round Game 1 and probably the Los Angeles Clippers vs Phoenix Suns match had the most unexpected outcome together with the Miami Heat vs Milwaukee Bucks.

Monty Williams’ side went into the game against the Clippers as heavy favorites to record the first win of the series, but things played out very differently.

Los Angeles, who came out on top (115-110), have won the last three head-to-head meetings, and they will be looking to record a fourth consecutive victory over the Suns.

It’s impossible to talk about the Clippers’ game without pointing out Kawhi Leonard’s fantastic performance. The former NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors and the San Antonio Spurs recorded 38 points and five assists to lead his team to victory.

Despite not having Paul George due to injury, Leonard was well surrounded by Russell Westbrook, Ivica Zubac, and Mason Plumlee, who combined for 12 offensive rebounds and 25 total.

Westbrook only scored nine points, but assisted, grabbed rebounds, and brought the team together.

Meanwhile, the Suns lost for the time with superstar Kevin Durant on the court.

KD was the team’s top scorer with 27 points, while Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton added another 26 and 18, respectively.

Based on their starting five, the Suns are stronger, especially taking into consideration George’s absence, but the main issue for the hosts is their bench rotation.

In Game 1, only 10 points were scored by players coming off the bench, which is a very poor percentage for a team that wants to fight for the title, regardless of their starting five quality.

Clippers vs Suns: prediction

The Suns, who also lost their previous game to the Clippers in the last game of the regular season, will have the chance to bounce back in front of their fans.

Although Durant and Booker are the main leaders of the team, Chris Paul will be key in this series, and in Game 2 he will need to record a better performance to help the team get the win.

The hosts will also need their six-man bench rotation to be more efficient, as only Landry Shamet, Jock Landale, and Bismack Biyombo (4 pts, 4 pts, 2 pts) scored while they were on the court.

Meanwhile, Tyronn Lue is probably satisfied with his men’s performance. Although they can do better in their shooting percentage, not much can be said about Leonard’s scoring display and Westbrook’s fight throughout Game 1.

Do the Clippers have the Suns’ number? If their latest stats are taken into consideration, it seems the LA team is probably the Suns’ kryptonite, but every match is a new chapter, especially in the playoffs, and the team led by Durant will try to avoid another big disappointment in front of their people.

Prediction: Clippers 107-118 Suns
