Update:

The Milwaukee Bucks will be fretting over the fitness of one of their star players, Damian Lillard, who has been upgraded to ‘questionable’ on the injury list ahead of Game 2 against the Indiana Pacers. The Bucks will be looking for a strong performance after a Game 1 loss of 117-98.

Lillard last played in a game on March 18, and has been suffering from blood clots in his right calf ever since; doctors recently stopped his blood-thinning medication after solid progress.

The team announced on social media that he was making “significant improvement” and that he was set to “continue to increase his on-court basketball activity.”

‘He’s close. He looks great to me’

The 34-year-old was a full participant in Monday’s training and head coach Doc Rivers was positive when asked about his status: “It’s more them, the doctors, than him. He’s close. He looks great to me. But he’s getting close. It’s hard, because we did the five-minute scrimmage with him before practice and he did it (April 20). Then when we get with the team we’re just doing skeleton work and all that, so it is hard. I will say that.”

Lillard himself revealed that he “was able to be active and do some stuff and then I got cleared to be on the court, and I was able to do some hard workouts and do some conditioning and stuff like that, so we’ll see.”

Lillard finished the 2024-25 regular season with averages of 24.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 7.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 44.8% from the field and 37.6% from the three-point range in 58 games.
