Update:

The New York Knicks could be forced to find a new way of living without Jalen Brunson after the star suffered what looks to be a serious injury against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The All-Star guard rolled his right ankle with 1:24 remaining in overtime in the Knicks' 113-109 loss; he underwent medical examinations after the game with the immediate outlook not a positive one.

What injury does Jalen Brunson have? How long will he be out for?

At the time of writing, there is no word on what injury Brunson has suffered, nor is there any information on how long he will be out for. The player will undergo more medical analysis to determine the extent of the issue.

Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said that Brunson’s mental toughness “is through the roof. It doesn’t surprise me the way he played the whole game. He still keeps battling and battling.”

“It’s next man up,” centre Karl-Anthony Towns added. “He’s a huge part of our team. We’ve been playing with grit and have to go out there and do it again.” Josh Hart labelled the injury “a bummer”.

Ahead of the injury, Brunson was 13 of 26 from the field and made 12 of his 13 foul shots as well as leading for his side with 39 points and 10 assists. It could be a huge loss for the Knicks: Brunson was seventh in the league in scoring with 26.3 points per game, and eighth in assists (7.4).
